National Hospice and Palliative Care Month: A Reflection

National Hospice and Palliative Care Month

National Hospice and Palliative care month is both a celebration of how far we’ve come, and a reminder of the work ahead. Across the nation, hospice and palliative care providers are navigating rising demand, workforce pressures, and a system that has not kept pace with the needs of patients.

At Elea Institute, we are working to bridge that gap. This past year, our leadership has participated in two global convenings of industry experts, both dedicated to forming models that meet patients where they are and serve them best. In the states, Elea Institute continues to fund grants that provide key resources, develop new processes, and ultimately expand access to care.

We have seen firsthand how collaboration, research, and shared learning can accelerate progress. The conversations taking place on the global stage are helping inform solutions here at home, while the work of our grant partners is providing insight into what patients and caregivers need most. Together, these efforts are building a foundation for long term improvement and strengthening the future of serious illness care.

While November has concluded, our mission remains steadfast. Elea Institute is proud to be a convener, and we look forward to continuing this important work in the months and years to come.
