Elea Institute strives to ensure that all patients have access to comprehensive, high-quality hospice and palliative care. We provide philanthropic support to organizational partners to develop resources that empower patients and caregivers to help them successfully navigate the healthcare system in order to access care and better manage the complexities of end-of-life care. Elea’s grant funding and partnerships support initiatives, including:

  • Identifying and working to reduce barriers to coverage for care
  • Identifying quality in-home care opportunities
  • Supporting advanced care planning
  • Providing training and resources to caregivers

Elea Institute offers trainings, research, and other educational tools to share new industry insights and findings to provide needed support to patients, caregivers, and health care providers. Elea’s support includes:

  • Identifying new, innovative patient-focused practices
  • Widely disseminating information on best clinical practices
  • Offering comprehensive education and training on best practices

Elea Institute is dedicated to empowering those facing serious illness or conditions and providing greater access to hospice and palliative care by bringing patients to the forefront of policy and regulatory conversations. This includes partnering with organizations who share our mission of educating, empowering, and advocating to expand access to hospice and palliative care.

As America’s population gets older, we are on the front lines of advocating for Medicare payment model reform so we can reduce health care costs, enhance quality of care, and increase access to care for more patients. Patients will benefit from fewer unnecessary hospitalizations and medial interventions, more efficient symptom management, and shorter inpatient hospital stays. For providers and our health care system, a reformed payment model will enable us to invest more in workforce development, training, and specialized care programs, without the financial constraints for traditional payment systems. Elea Institute is working to improve hospice and palliative care by engaging in the following areas:

  • Leading multi-stakeholder conversations
  • Elevating key issues at a national level
  • Identifying solutions that enhance access and improve affordability
  • Advocating for payment model reform
  • Leading efforts to improve quality of care
