Elea Institute Expands Board of Directors

Throughout my career, both as a practicing physician and as an executive leading home and community-based healthcare organizations, I’ve had the privilege of supporting patients, families, and caregivers alike. This work has shown me the importance of ensuring every individual receives care that addresses their health needs, prioritizes their comfort, and supports them comprehensively.

My journey in hospice and palliative care began early in my career when I saw firsthand the profound difference specialized care can make, particularly when brought to the patient’s home. It has always been an incredible privilege to serve patients and their loved ones during some of life’s most challenging moments. I am proud to continue my support of patients and join Elea Institute’s unwavering commitment to furthering hospice and palliative care, including Elea’s innovative work to reimagine the hospice benefit.

Our vision for the future of hospice and palliative care is both ambitious and deeply practical. I believe hospice and palliative care should be a cornerstone of how we approach serious illness and end-of-life care, not merely an add-on to the healthcare system. We need to expand access, improve equity, and integrate hospice this care more seamlessly into the continuum of care.

As Elea Institute continues its partnership with organizations across the country to create blueprints for improved hospice services, I am eager to contribute my expertise and collaborate with such a dedicated team. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their loved ones, ensuring the hospice benefit evolves to meet the needs of today and tomorrow.
