Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent, nonprofit healthcare provider and one of the only pediatric hospice and serious illness care providers in northern Illinois. At Lightways, care teams provide medical, nursing, psychosocial, and spiritual care for its pediatric patients who have been diagnosed with conditions and diseases such as epilepsy, seizures, brain malformations, cerebral palsy, spastic quadriplegia, cancer, and chromosome disorders, among others.
Over the coming year and beyond, Lightways will utilize the funding provided by Elea Institute to provide care to an expanding community of pediatric patients as well as meet the growing need for uncompensated care for patients and their families.
