Global Partners in Care and Elea Institute Unite to Advance Global Palliative Care

14% of global palliative care needs are currently being met

Global Partners in Care (GPIC) and Elea Institute have announced a strategic partnership focused on expanding hospice and palliative care access worldwide. The collaboration addresses a critical gap: currently only 14% of global palliative care needs are being met, with the vast majority of unmet need concentrated in low- and middle-income countries.

The initiative brings together GPIC's established model of connecting U.S. hospice organizations with counterparts internationally alongside Elea Institute's expertise in convening national healthcare leaders and funding innovation. Together, the organizations aim to develop sustainable solutions through shared expertise, bi-directional knowledge exchange, and joint programming.

"We are proud to now bring the lessons, strategies, and innovations that have been pioneered here at home to a global stage."
— Kent Mathy, Chair, Elea Institute Board of Directors
"We will use our collective voice and experience to enhance access to care, capturing insights from under-resourced settings that have pioneered creative solutions out of necessity."
— John Mastrojohn III, President & CEO, Global Partners in Care

The partnership plans to create a roadmap for global action, strengthen international collaboration, and reinvigorate stakeholder engagement through an approach that values learning in both directions—from established systems and from communities that have long operated with fewer resources.
