Elea Institute Brings Seasoned Health Care Provider on Leadership Team
Elea Institute, a national leader in advancing hospice and palliative care, has expanded its Board of Directors with the addition of Dr. Kristofer L. Smith, MD, MPP. The announcement was made on February 13, 2025.
Dr. Smith brings more than 15 years of experience in population health and value-based care to his new role. Most recently, he served as Chief Medical Officer of Optum at Home. His previous leadership positions include Chief Medical Officer at Landmark Health, Chief Clinical Officer at Prospero Health, President of naviHealth's Home-based Medical Care division, and Senior Vice President of Population Health at Northwell Health. Early in his medical career, Dr. Smith worked as a house-call physician focused on primary and palliative care.
